Jerome Walter Krzeminski, (Jerry), 87 years old, of Arlington Heights, a proud United States Marine Corps veteran, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026 surrounded by family. Howard Owen Trullinger, Jr. Born in Kansas to Mildred (Huggins) and Howard Owen Trullinger Sr, Hal grew up with a kindhearted big sister Virginia (Anderson) and little brothers Doug and Greg Trullinger. Hal was one of a kind from a young age, getting into mischief, but also enjoying reading on his mom’s lap where he first discovered his passion for books. Immediately after graduating from Central High School (Sioux City, IA) in 1966, Hal joined the US Marine Corps inspired to serve his country after reading a novel, Battle Cry. While proudly serving in Vietnam  (1966-1969), he wrote 100s of letters (mostly to his mom) detailing his coming of age while experiencing war.

He and his mom had a special connection. Hal earned a Purple Heart for his injuries. After returning from Vietnam, his family had moved to Denver, CO, where he met Linda Jelovchan on a blind date at the movies seeing “Pat Garret and Billy the Kid.” They were married in Rawlins, Wy, in 1973 and began their family having two children, Jason and Jaime. They moved from Wyoming to Illinois in 1977 so Hal could pursue his dreams at the Art Institute of Chicago. Hal attended many colleges, including University of Chicago to study math theory, not for a degree, but to quench his quest to learn as much as he could in his lifetime. Hal loved normal things like vacations at the cabin and walking the dogs, but what made him legendary was his revolving “phases,” collections and hobbies to obsess over and never less than a few at once (yeah, he tried juggling too).

He was a Marine, artist, black belt in Taekwondo, philosopher, mathematician, art historian, digital artist, computer programmer, did he ever tell you he was in the movie industry? (working at Blockbuster video after retiring from a career at Ameritech), photography, Tarot, harmonica and string instruments…just to name a few…the list is extensive. He collected baseball cards as a boy, then coins, hats, coats, canes, instruments, again, just to name a few. He loved folk and beatniks, Bob Dylan and the Grateful Dead, Bruce Lee, Albert Einstein, Toulouse-Lautrec and endless other artists. Among all personas, Hal’s favorite role in life was Dad. Season passes to Six Flags, water parks, baseball fields to hit a few. He was always willing to have a fun day with his kids. As Hal aged and effects of Agent Orange exposure took its toll on his health, he was in constant pursuit of

peace through philosophy, theology and most of all family. A Man of Constant Sorrow was his go-to song at karaoke with Linda, but he was truly a man of great inspiration. “No great genius has ever existed without a mixture of madness.” Season passes turned to Steppenwolf Theater with Linda where he slept through dozens of great performances. He loved to give random gifts “to remember him by” as he called you the wrong name. “It’s a Trullinger thing.” He didn’t want the grandkids to see “Pop Pop” as too old, but he’d say “you can’t stay cool forever.” When sad about his declining health, he’d quote a favorite book, The Velveteen Rabbit and accept he was “becoming more real.” Man, was he a real dude? The Big Lebowski was more than a favorite movie, it became part of his philosophy of life. Always searching to discover a tasty food, like the “world’s best burger” at Five Guys. & quote; No great genius has ever existed without a mixture of madness.& quote; Jack of all trades, master of none.

He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Mildred Trullinger, grandparents, nephew Matthew, sisters-in-law Sandra and Rhonda, and niece Kenna, whom he missed dearly. Hal is survived by his beloved wife Linda Trullinger; children Jason (Lauren) Trullinger and Jaime (Kevin) Trullinger Mordue; siblings Virginia (Kenny) Anderson, Greg Trullinger, and Doug (Sharon) Trullinger; and grandchildren Sawyer, Alice, Calliope, and Ryder, who brought Pop-Pop immeasurable joy. His nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will miss hearing about his latest shenanigans.

Cyrena Duda-Chiarello, 86, of Palatine, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026.Cyrena was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend whose warmth touched everyone she met. She was known for her endless smile, her gentle words of wisdom, and a natural charm and positivity that brightened even the hardest days. Her home was often filled with the comforting aroma of her Italian cooking whether it was amazing gravy or famous Christmas cookies, a tradition cherished by all who loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Ruzycki and Jeanine Duer; her son-in-law, Joseph Duer; her beloved grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas, and Cassidy; and her brother, Richard Chiarello. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Duda. Cyrena found her greatest joy in her family—especially her grandchildren and granddogs, who brought her endless happiness. She also enjoyed her daily chai tea lattes and the simple pleasures of life shared with those she loved. A longtime member of the Palatine Women's Club, Cyrena was actively involved in her community. She dedicated many years as a secretary for local churches, where her kindness and dedication left a lasting impression. Cyrena will be remembered for her loving spirit, her resilience, and the light she brought into the lives of others. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Virginia Mary (McDaniel) Llorca, aged 82, passed away peacefully at home with her husband and her daughter nearby on April 26th, 2026. Born in Chicago, IL on April 9th, 1944 to Robert and Frances (Sparough) McDaniel, she was raised in Oak Park, graduating from OPRF in 1961. She met her husband of 61 years, Louis Llorca, 88, of Chicago, at Loyola University in 1964. Rumor has it she followed him into the Clover Leaf Tap, and the rest, as they say, is history. They were married October 10th, 1964. Their daughter Lisa was born in 1965, and their daughter Francesca was born in 1982. In her early childhood, she was affectionately nicknamed “Ditty” by her Dad, and from then on, was rarely known by any other name, even to the Illinois Secretary of State. Her tenacity and determination were evident early on. She taught herself to read when she was four years old- although her motivation remains unclear- and remained an avid reader her entire life. Books were always her happy place, and she eventually got around to writing and publishing a few of her own works. Because she spent so much time reading, she was an endless vault of knowledge, facts, and wisdom.  Unbeatable at trivia. If she didn’t know the answer to something, she usually knew right where to find out, and she would never hesitate to share a pertinent piece of knowledge with you if she thought it would help. Sometimes this would occur even if you hadn’t asked.  She was fiercely protective of her family and friends, and always made you feel safe. You knew even if the world ended, she would still be there, holding your hand and yelling telling you that it would all be ok. And you would always hear her voice in a crowd, cheering you on as loud as she could, no matter how terribly the game may have been going. She didn’t care, she was just watching you, because she thought you were amazing no matter what. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Louie; her daughter Francesca (Kyle), and grandchildren Benjamin and Delaney; her granddaughters Cassandra and Danielle, and great-grandson Eli; her daughter Lisa, and grandson Billy; her brother Bob (Gail) McDaniel, and a large handful of nephews, nieces, and cousins whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Frances McDaniel; her brother Peter (Joanna) McDaniel; and three tiny angels who she was finally able to meet for the first time. Every one of us has a lifetime of memories with her, many of which are the type where something as simple as a trip to the grocery store turned into a hilarious experience you’ll never forget. We’ve all called her up to ask her the question that we were certain only she would know the answer to, and she did. Now, we’ll hold on to these memories tighter than ever, so they will be our comfort when we miss her. When we miss being able to call her on the phone, or miss her laugh, or her hug, or her face. Take comfort in your heart by knowing that if you hold a happy memory of her, then she holds one of you, too, and that it filled her heart with love to recall it. And, perhaps most importantly, take comfort in knowing that there will inevitably be a time in your life when you hear her voice in your head, unannounced, offering you a piece of wisdom or advice that you didn’t know you needed, until… “You know there’s a way to properly fold a fitted sheet…” We’ll miss you forever, Mom.

Christine Anne Vasquez

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Christine Anne Vasquez, who left this world on April 17, 2026, just shy of her 70th birthday. Born in Evanston, Illinois, on April 29, 1956, Christine was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred Weisenburger. She now rests in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior reunited with her husband, Adelaido "Al" Vasquez, and her cherished daughter, Erica Anne Vasquez. She now joins them in eternal peace. She leaves behind: her children, Michael (Stefanie) Vasquez, Maria Vasquez, Elida (John) Hagen, and Manuel Vasquez. Her grandchildren, Liliana, Frankie, Paxton, Branley, Kyler, Kolton, and Bryce. Christine is also survived by her siblings, Joseph (Mindy) Weisenberger, Judith (Bill) Bramlett, Marie (John) Nicklas, Catherine Townsend, Susan (Russell) Ehret, Elizabeth Anderson, Timothy (Jamie) Weisenberger, Thomas (Dorothy) Weisenberger, and Robert (Skye) Weisenberger. She cherished her many nieces and nephews. Christine was known for her charming eccentricities, and ability to stand out in a crowd. She had a passion for karaoke, and always sang like no one was watching. Funeral services will be held on May 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church, located at 434 W Park St, Arlington Heights, IL 60005. Family, friends, and all whose lives she touched are invited to gather and honor the memory of Christine.

Robert Terrance Smith, 75 passed away on March 29, 2026 in Oak Lawn, Illinois.  

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Robert Terrance “Terry” Smith, 75, of Tinley Park, Illinois, on March 29, 2026. Terry was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois, where he built the foundation of a life centered around hard work, community, and the people he cared about. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era, where he earned the National Defense Service Medal for Marksmanship. Following his service, Terry spent time working at  Svoboda’s Nickelodeon Tavern and Museum, a family run business in Chicago Heights, IL. Terry went on to dedicate 28 years  to the railroad, working in maintenance for Illinois Central and Metra Electric before retiring in 2012. Outside of work Terry coached youth baseball becoming a steady presence in the lives of the players he mentored. One of his former players recently said “No matter what name was on the back of our jerseys he made each of us feel like we were one of his own kids.”. The influence he had as a coach left a lasting impression on his players that extended well into their adult lives. Terry had another passion that set him apart—he loved magic. An amateur magician for most of his adult life, he was a member of the Magic Masters of Tinley Park. You could often find him collecting new tricks and gadgets and spending time learning, practicing and perfecting his craft. He loved performing at local restaurants and would gladly show his latest trick to anyone willing to watch, finding true joy in entertaining others. He is survived by his longtime partner and fiancée, Mary Horkan; his children, Patricia (Smith)Fasching (Chris) and Keith Smith; Ashley Smith, née Johnson (Brian Gibson), who remained a close and important part of his life as well did Bob and Nora Thiesen, née Horkan. He is also survived by his loving Grandchildren Carson Smith,  Brendan Sirevicius, Bobby Thiesen, and Emilee Thiesen; and also Jeannette Fasching. Terry is further survived by his sister-in-law, Suzonne Smith; his nephews, Lindsey Smith (Linda), Miles Smith, and Bronson Smith (Christine); his niece, Kathy Baron Villalobos; as well as many loving great-nieces and nephews. He now rests in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior reunited with his grandchildren, Declan Smith, Baby Smith and Liam Smith; parents Thomas Smith and Anne Smith, née Svoboda; his sister Delores Baron, née Smith; his brother, Tommie Smith (whom we sadly lost just over a week before Terry on 3/21, may he rest in peace); his brother-in-law, Henry Baron; as well as many beloved Aunts and Uncles.

A Memorial Mass will be held on April 27, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church, 17500 S. 84th Avenue, Tinley Park, Illinois. The family invites those that knew Terry to join in celebrating his life after the service. Details will be given after mass. Tony Pivar, 94, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Barrington, Illinois. Born on May 23, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, Tony lived a full and remarkable life marked by dedication to his family, career, and passions. After graduating from Lane Tech High School in Chicago, Tony began his career as an apprentice tool and die maker at KL Spring and Stamping. His career was briefly interrupted by his service in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. Upon completing his military service, Tony returned to KL Spring and Stamping, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 1997. Tony was married to the late Jeanne, with whom he shared many cherished years. Their family became the center of Tony’s life. He is survived by his daughters Linda (Jamie), Karla (the late Stewart), and Jennifer (Peter). He was a proud grandfather to Neely, Jamie, Konstantine, Matthew, Alexandria, Samantha, and Cassidy and a great-grandfather to ten great-grandchildren. Tony’s love for his family was unwavering; he found immense joy in their company and took pride in their accomplishments. In retirement, Tony moved to Crystal Lake with his daughter Jennifer. He embraced this new chapter of life with enthusiasm and continued to pursue activities that brought him happiness. An avid reader and music enthusiast, Tony also had a talent for creating intricate marquetry art. In later years, he enjoyed meeting new friends at his Fit and Strong class—a testament to his enduring social spirit. Tony’s earlier years were filled with fond memories of fishing trips with his nephews and spending time at his home in Nahma Township in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Known for his sharp wit and sarcasm, Tony brought laughter and joy to those around him. His humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, craftsman, and friend—Tony Pivar leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Gathering will be held on June 7, 2026, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at The Trails Clubhouse 703 E Nerge Rd. Open House. Lunch will be provided.

John William Michael, We gather to celebrate the beautiful life of John Michael, who embarked on his next great journey on March 4, 2026, at the age of 53, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. John was a vibrant soul who loved his family, time with friends, his Tito’s, the Seattle Seahawks, classic rock music, and—more recently—country rock. He enjoyed fixing things around the house and working on cars, always happiest when he had something to tinker with. He also loved firing up the grill for family and friends, and his BBQ was known by all who tried it to be some of the very best. His energy filled every room, and he had a way of bringing laughter to those around him.
Born in Grants Pass, Oregon on March 27, 1972, John spent his life bringing light to everyone he met. John dedicated over 20 years of his career to Kintetsu World Express (U.S.A.), Inc., where he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. He took great pride in his work and was known for his problem-solving skills, leadership, and commitment to helping both his team and customers succeed. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter and will be deeply missed by his wife, Emiko; his father, Gerald; his sons, Mik, Joey, Johnny, and JJ; and his daughter, Arisa. We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved fur baby, Angel; his mother, Nancy; his sister, Jennifer; and his grandparents.

Jose Amaro Gonzalez, It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that the family of Jose Amaro Gonzalez announces his peaceful passing at home on February 15, 2026, just shy of his 98th birthday. Born on February 20, 1928, in Michoacan, Mexico, Jose was welcomed into heaven by his parents Rafael Gonzalez Amezcua and Esther Amaro and his siblings Amanda, Rosendo, Rafael, Consuelo, and Martha. Jose is adoringly survived by his youngest sister, Esther, who will carry forward the cherished bond they shared.  Jose's journey from Michoacan to the bustling streets of Mexico City and eventually to the United States in his twenties is a testament to his adventurous spirit and determination. In Little Village, Illinois, Jose quickly became a dedicated advocate for family-friendly initiatives, he also thrived as a small business owner, touching many lives with his generosity and warmth.  His passions were as diverse as they were vibrant. Jose reveled in organizing gatherings, where his infectious laughter and culinary skills brought people together. These gatherings included home parties, weekend picnics and camping trips where his fondness for poker games, music, cold beer, and delicious tequila created lifelong memories for all who joined. Jose's commitment to family was unwavering—he led numerous road trips to Mexico, ensuring that the preservation of strong family bonds and treasured experiences remained strong across generations.  Jose's roles in life were many: a devoted husband to his cherished wife, Elizabeth Gonzalez; a loving father to his children Maricela Gonzalez, Maria (Hector) Saenz, Jose (Glynis) Gonzalez, Rafael (Nancy) Gonzalez, and Rita (Robert) Murphy; and a doting grandfather to Nicholas Gonzalez, Katie O’Neal, Ethan (Alexis) Gonzalez, Marcella Gonzalez (partner Eric), Gabriella (Kevin) Fulmer, Conner Murphy, and Samantha Saenz. His family was his pride and joy, and he consistently placed them at the heart of all he did.  In every interaction, whether as a husband, father, grandfather, godfather, son, uncle, brother, or friend, Jose's enthusiasm for life and admiration for those around him shone brightly. His cheerful spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.  Family and friends are welcome to attend Jose's funeral mass and celebrate his legacy.
