Mary Chieko Ichinose

The wave breaks on the sand, remembering it was always the whole ocean.

Mary Chieko Ichinose of Crystal Lake Illinois passed away on August 7th, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. Cancer did not define her life; her courage did and now the struggle is over, and gentle peace has finally come. She was born on March 25, 1961 in Eugene Oregon, moved to Hawaii and finally to Illinois where she passed on August 7th 2026 in Crystal Lake Illinois. She is survived by her mother Nancy Shaw, Brothers Peter (Nancy), Ed, Frederick (Angela) and Danny, Nieces Kelly, Hana and Jaden and Nephew Noah. She was preceded in death by her father Lester Ichinose. Like a wildflower, she knew how to bloom even in the rocky places of life for the Earth tested her roots, but her spirit blossomed anyway. There will be no memorial service and the family asks that in memory of Mary practice random acts of kindness.
