Charles “Chuck” Lawrence Koffler

77, of Mount Prospect, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, after a courageous 3½-year battle with cancer.Born on August 16, 1948, in Chicago, Chuck spent many years as a small business owner in Elgin, where he worked hard, helped many people, and built lasting friendships. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Aloha Koffler, whose adventurous spirit brought years of travel, laughter, and new experiences into his life; his children, Carleen (Troy) Swanberg, Sharon (James) Potsch, Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Koffler, Peter Koffler, and Patrick (Ashley) Koffler; his stepchildren, Ciprian (Anne), Honorio (May), Mark, and Ivan, who lovingly knew him as “Uncle”; his cherished grandchildren, Adeline, Annalise, Scarlett, Henry, Emily, and Samantha, with another grandchild expected later this year; and his sister, Marilyn. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Koffler, whom he met by chance at a McDonald’s while they were teenagers. They married young, shared 17 years of marriage, and started a family together before her passing. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Ella Irene Koffler. Family meant everything to Chuck. He was proud of his five children and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his growing family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and especially enjoyed woodworking, creating countless projects and keepsakes for family and friends. His handiwork can be found throughout the homes of those he loved, serving as lasting reminders of his creativity and generosity. One of Chuck’s favorite traditions was his monthly poker game with friends, which lasted for more than 30 years. Throughout his battle with cancer, Chuck faced each challenge with determination and strength. Chuck’s memory will live on through the family he loved and the friendships he cherished. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate Chuck’s life and honor his memory.
