Angelika Antonczyk

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gaili Antonczyk, 63 of Palatine, Illinois on August 2nd, 2025. Gaili was born on September 3rd, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to Elisabeth and Heinrich Haegerich. She grew up in the Lakeview Chicago area, then as an adult moved to the northwest suburbs. Gaili loved her 12-year career at AT&T as well as her 29-year career as a Title Closer for PNTN. In addition to her full-time career, Gaili was a Real Estate Appraiser and Jeweler for Park Lane. Gaili absolutely loved being a jewelry lady with the many friendships and fun she had along the way. She definitely had a gift as a stylist for both jewelry and fashion. Gaili also had a knack for interior design which carried through to her outdoor oasis where she loved to sip her wine and relax by her pond.

Gaili was an avid runner who ran many marathons including Boston’s. One of Gaili’s annual highlights was going to Sarasota Florida with her best friend, Lynda who have been friends for 44 years. As a Chicagoan, she was passionate about “my” Bulls, never missing a game and a Cubs fan as well. Gaili loved her niece Sarah and her great nieces Evelyn and Alyra as she often compared the sister relationship she had with her sister Moni. She is survived by her mother Elisabeth Hagerich who she referred to as mommy and loved dearly, her sister Monika Shaffer, niece Sarah Cook (husband Kaleb Cook) great nieces, Evelyn Cook, Alyra Cook, Hank Haegerich (step brother), Helen Haegerich (step sister-in-law), nieces Tamara Haegerich, Heidi Boring and cousin Marianne. She was preceded in death by her Papa Heinrich Haegerich and brother-in-law Kevin Shaffer.

Gaili will be remembered as a fun loving kind woman. She adored her dogs as they were like family to her. She had a heart of gold and always let others know how happy she was to be around them. She made people laugh and her ability to light up a room was contagious. Her favorite saying was “God loves me” as she smiled and went on to tell her God story.
