Marilyn Louise Ehrlich

Marilyn Rinker Ehrlich-LaFond born September 30,1933 in Iowa and died in Illinois April 19, 2024 at the wonderful age of 90. She had a long life filled with many laughs and some heartfelt tears. She was married to Donald C. Ehrlich who preceded her in death. They lived in Lombard and had three children Victoria (Carl) Mueller, Karen (Michael) McAdams, and Craig (Rhonda) Ehrlich. She worked for A.C.Bueller Library at Elmhurst University for over 30 years and had a wonderful love of reading supported by Elmhurst Public Library, Helen Plum Public Library, and Wood Dale Public Library. She also loved going to the movies and challenging family members to trivia games involving movies and their stars. In later years, watching black and white movies became her passion. She is survived by a large, loving family. Her beloved Grandchildren: David Stout, Breanne (Jeff) Bynes, Meghann (Jim) Thomas, Brandon (Kelsey) Mueller, Carli (John) Russo, Michele (Justin) Bitkus, Bret (Jenelle) Ehrlich, Kathleen Ehrlich. Beloved Great-grandchildren: Maddi, Ryan, Zakk, Aiden, Payton, J.J, Theo, Laina, Tucker, Tanner, Brinley, and Haidyn. Beloved Great-great-grandchild: D.J. Her beloved sister: Barbara (Tony) Testa, Beloved nieces, and nephews: Christi (Dale) Choyeski, Tracey (Mark) Campolattara, Claudia (Dan) Yangas, Rick Ehrlich, Lee (Hollis) Ehrlich-Blair, and Jeff Ehrlich and their children. Her cousin Linda (Butch) Van de Walker and many second cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Esther Rinker, a baby sister, and her grandson: Christopher Stout. She was gifted with another family when she married Armand “Bud” LaFond in 2001 after years of togetherness. After their marriage Bud’s children became her step-children and she thought of them as her own. The additions to her already large family were his children: Linda (Phil) Wallace, Armand (Brenda) LaFond, Arlette Krempasky and Douglas (Lisa) LaFond, step-grandchildren: Angela (Marcus) Sullivan, Greg Wallace, Katie (Erik) Schulze, Timothy Wallace, Brittany Krempasky, Christopher (Jenna) Wallace, R.J. Krempasky, and Jessica (Andrew) White and step-great-grandmother of Nathan, Jason, Norah, Trevor, Alex, Adelynn, and Lucas. Marilyn and Bud had been married over 20 years when he died in December, 2023. Services have not been planned yet; however, internment will be in the family plot at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL.
