Mary Lovejoy Sweet
resident of Arlington Heights, Ill., and past resident of Des Plaines, Ill., and Janesville, Wis., passed away Aug. 28 at the age of 80. She leaves behind a husband, Elmer; three children: Robert (Marcia) Sweet, Maria (Kevin) Jacobs, and Elizabeth Sweet; four grandchildren: Nicholas Keriazakos, Jordan Sweet, Joshua Sweet, and Grace Jacobs; two sisters: Julia Weiser and Katherine (Dale) Berman; one brother: Allen (Heather) Lovejoy; one brother-in-law: James Waeffler; six nieces; three nephews; and numerous grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Mary was preceded in death by a son, John Sweet, and a sister, Alexandra Waeffler. Mary was born July 30, 1944, in Janesville to Robert and Margaret Lovejoy. Over the course of her busy and productive life, she worked as a teacher and a day-care manager, traveled extensively, and made many friends. She always had a quick and encouraging word for anyone who needed one., Mary inspired many fond memories in family and friends. A memorial service celebrating Mary’s life is planned for Saturday, September 21st at 10:00 AM at the Moorings of Arlington Heights. In Lieu of flowers, a contribution can be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or the American Brain Tumor Association.
